5 ways to embrace autumn with Library of Things
If the arrival of autumn makes you feel like team member Alan's dog, Skye. š Fear not, from putting up a 16ft inflatable in the garden, to doing some pre-hibernation preparations there's sure to be something to brighten your mood now that autumn has officially arrived. Check out these 5 tips from our members on how to get pre-hibernation ready and embrace autumn.
1. Do the Thing you've been putting off šŖ
Now sunbathing is off the cards, you can tick off those projects you put off over summer, like this Morden member.
"I'd been putting off sanding the outside table for the whole summerā¦back to work loomed on the horizon so I dashed off and borrowed the Hand Sander. A few hours later we now have a funky mint green table to lift the autumnal garden gloom!"
2. Get prepared for snuggly nights in š
Gearing up for duvet days? Get the deep clean done now so you can fully relax later. Here's what this Hammersmith member did:
"We wanted to give the flat a pre-autumn hibernation deep clean, as we have a cat the carpets were being particularly stubborn. Renting the Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner meant we got the job done in a day and it feels so much nicer now!"
If your sofa's seen better days, you can revive it with the Carpet Cleaner.

3. Learn something new š§µ
Make the most of dark evenings by learning something new. Have a go at making some curtains using the Sewing Machine like Magnus did.
We've got loads of Things to help you get started with a new hobby.
Check out our blog on how to get started with mending your clothes.
4. Be ready for colder weather and lower your bills ā
Find cold spots around the house before they find you, and then help out your neighbours by letting them know about it too - just like this Kentish Town member did! šŖ
"We went round the house with the Thermal Imaging Camera identifying the cold spots ā not all of which were obvious. We then told other members ofĀ our local residents group."
5. Have a movie night š„
Watch your favourite flicks snuggled up on the sofa or under the stars, like Sam did:
"Is there a better place to watch Shrek 2 than on a 16ft inflatable screen in your garden? No, there is not." We've got everything you need for a film night to remember - Projector, Projector Screens (not inflatable though, sorry!), Popcorn Makers and Waffle Makers.
